a shimmering green world, where light just pours-through like a radiant power inside everything. It really shines from within. Your backgrounds are winding & lush, and they lead to a deep green at bottom, almost like a sea made of deep green light. (It also has the feel of swamps in tropical areas, where the green gets so saturated, you'd think it might actually explode from the intensity.) And it breaks into a burst of white light atop, surrounded by an amber-ish yellow. Beautiful journey of hues, Carol...The unicorn seems draped in light as much as in its natural hair & mane, and you use your signature 'inner colors' in the body---here, esp your dark greens and that light blue in front & back, which give the unicorn an inner life before our eyes. And the legs flow into these water-like sheets, one of which is a beautiful inward yellow. All punctuated by your butterfly on branch---could be a simple foreground image, or could be the start of a new treeline below...And your leaves are like star-speckles...A simple but lush image, beautiful, and radiant. I've seen all kinds of unicorns, but this one radiates verdant life & peace, and it drips light like overflow...Beautiful.

There is a haunting quality to this piece that evokes romanticism with just a hint of the psychedelic. Very impressive work, and I really like the addition of the butterfly in the foreground – it provides a bit of an anchor to all the etherealness of the rest of the painting. I'm definitely getting a sort of "Green Mansions" vibe from the colors, if not the subject.
