I had a few break-ins up to the cottage, so I decided to go up see who was coming into the place. They really did not take any thing but I could see there were foot prints on the dusty floor.. I started a fire in the fire place and lit the lantern as evening drew near. Evening had a chill as I sat there reading. Then suddenly I heard water splashing at the dock. But I stayed in my chair so they would not see me. Then I heard water dripping off an object and the sound of wet feet coming up the stairs to the cottage entrance. The door opened and the person came into room where the fire was flickering. I saw her look up at the fire and the young lady walked toward it. Dressed in a white gym suit that you could see that was wet and see through she was the perfect mermaid that I have ever seen before. She looked over to me and saw me but she did not run away.
