Description
I'm beginning my return to RR, and am returning, at long last, to dedis. It will take time, but I begin with Ana (anaber) because she was one of my early friends here, and she's been dearer to me than I can say, as well as to all who know & love her; and she deserves all the light I could give her. I started a drawing for her, but I've been out of practice. And---well, trust me: The results weren't great. (That's a major understatement, folks.) Ana's so very kind that, when she saw my early efforts---ballet dancers, ala Degas---she, along with Helle (who also had the misfortune of seeing them), said they were fine! But, people? These ballet dancers brought Balanchine, Diaghilev & Stravinsky out of their graves & threatening to take me with them. (Degas sued, and he died in 1917!) So Ana, your drawing will be late: Desculpe! But my love won't! You cannot know what you've meant to me and to the others you've touched. You supported me through everything, you've been there even when you were overwhelmed yourself, you've always supported my art while you're an artist that many of us look up to. And your spirit has been like the sun in this photo, blasting through the clouds & shining on all of us. I wish you a blessed birthday & year, tons of light & peace, and I send you all my love & gratitude, and shout "Happy Birthday Dear Friend, and many many more!" (And you WILL see that drawing---and it WON'T make you change your name & move to Antarctica, I promise!) Love & joy as always, Mark

Love the softness of this early morning light...so often it is so bright it is harsh...not here. The gradient colors of the sky also draw me right in and stand in pleasant contrast to the rippling, inky lake surface. A-1, as are your birthday wishes for Ana. Nice......

What a glorious photograph! I love the colors of the water, the way the golden light changes the deeper colors to something totally different. Really stunning work, and a lovely dedi to Ana. Beautiful!

OH!!!MARRRK :))))))))))) Thank you, thank you...i have not words to answer yours!!!:)) But,oh my!!!its too much, I am melting, Mark and "touchée"! This photo is perfect for me:i love the sea soo much!! the feeling of freedom it has and that i adore,yet,the peace it gives me! and you captured the most beautiful atmosphere with the sun shinning through the cloud,one thin cloud,making the difference...glowing! what a fabulous view.Thank you so much! Although I've never heard of her, a more than spectacular dedication to your Ana in this stunning cloud/sky/lake photograph, Mark, with its somewhat esoteric lighting effects! Pardon me for tarnishing the mood, but the narrow dark strip of cloud spanning the sky resembles a contrail.

Mark, this is such a stunning photo my friend and one of the most beautiful dedications ever. It's hard to imagine a more perfect scene, and when combined with your caring words it really is touching. It's so easy to see what a special place in your heart that you reserve for your friends, and Ana is one lucky lady to have this dedi from you.

A very beautiful dedication to Ana and I love how you say this reminds you of her spirit blasting through the clouds as that is exactly what this sun is trying so hard to do and it is nearly there. A wonderful capture with quite a mood lifting feel to it as it seems all is possible if one just goes for that extra push. A great way to start the day.
