Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

How fun to get a train next to that old wreck. It provides me with a strong sense of history. How many trains must have run along the waterfront, how many engineers have looked forward to seeing that wreck sitting there ... an evocative image!

Lovely capture. Very well done

Outstanding shot Bill.

That old wood hull was probably the cargo carrier before trains...lol. Nice comp to go along with this modern cargo carrier.

I see the train, I see the wreck, and I see the light too...well...the train's light most prominently. I love this shot. The empty freight containers look like the kinds of modules I read about in an expatriate magazine...put a Coleman stove, and a porta-potty in one of those babies and you have a pretty decent moving condo. But that's a ramble for another time. I love the curve of the tracks and the way the metal catches the gleam of daylight, cooling down the image in good ways, since the front of the train is so sharply defined and warm...that warm/cool combo is really nice here. Great POV especially, and I love the idea of a train and a wreck in the same photo even though the two aren't related. Yeah, this rocks. I like it a lot.

It's still a great capture of this train and I'm really glad you didn't have another train wreck. Excellent colouring.

Darn, you really fooled me on this one! I was expecting a mass of rr cars all splintered and piled up in a jumbled stack. In any event, tons of great depth and ambience in this masterful composition of the freight train as it slowly makes its way along the tracks, Bill.

Hehe - clever with the title, Bill! This is a dynamite photo on a number of levels. It really gives you a sense of scale when you take in the whole image. Quite spectacular!

lol...Bill... I can understand you couldn't resist...grin... and this shot is fascinating and IMHO even better than the first you took!

My, this is a great photo - that s-curve in the back really gives a derailment illusion. Very nicely planned photo. And, yes, the old abandonned hull, love the pun on combining the train and the wreck. Keep up the good work! :-)

One more time such a fantastic railroad picture! I am greedy about stuff like that! American railroading has many friends here in Europe and Germany!
