Description

Brimham Rocks Over 300 millions years ago a vast river brought grit and sand from the north leaving a delta spreading over a vast area of Yorkshire. This along with rock crystals and quartz combined to make a tough sandstone now called Millstone Grit.It is these exposed areas that are now know as Brimham rocks.Once described as a "Druidical monuments" many over the years have been christened with elaborate names such as Dancing Bear,Sphinx,Eagle,Turtle,Anvil,as have some locations have been given names such as Lovers Leap.In 1792 Lord Grantley built Brimham House as he put it "For the accommodation of persons who's curiosity might prompt them to visit this world of wonders" I did some HDR on this and worked on the sky and I thought the finished result looked like an old wild west photograph ot painting

you're right, it does look like a painting. the light isn't intense enough to make me think of the west, but it has a very vintage feel. i really like how the central rock structure came out. the texture of its surface is very beautiful.
