Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Sheesh! Sure doesn't look like the Seattle I visited in February, 1978! All those high rises speak of a positive economy (which some said it wasn't back then). Nice photo. It gives an impression of compactness and growth. However, I wonder about how quake proof those buildings are. I like the detail, colors and variety of construction you've captured in this. Keep up the good work! :-)

An excellent pic, Bill, but a nightmare environment for me.

WOW! What a great shot. I have something with these large buildings side by side and all the windows. The geometric shapes and so. Looks awesome. :)

All those buildings, great shot especially in zoom!!!!

It's amazing to me how distance and perspective can make a place look totally different. The long view shows a small city on a hill, but this closer look gives the feeling of crowded industry. Excellent! Now I'm going to have to go back and go through my file again ... this is inspiring! (Great view of the Ban Roll-On building, btw!) :D

Amazing photo, Bill! I'm a bit surprised at the size of Seattle. This gives a really good impression of its size and proximity to the water. Stunning photo! Have you tried this viewpoint at night? That would be incredible with the reflections on the water.

splendid panorama!

I like this, especially the light. Looks like dusk, although I've heard Seattle is frequently overcast. This shot gives you a feel for the place and how close it is to the water. It's a place I've been curious since I first heard Nirvanna's "Smells like Teen Spirit" back in 1991. A friend of mine visited 2 years ago and was all smiles about it. That, and I now have friends there! Nice vibrant shot. Fascinating link about the abandoned factory seen in "Tell Me a Story". Great work here, and I'm also curious as to where you were when you made it?

A lovely capture. When I see all these huge skyscrapers I wonder what it is like to walk amongst them with all those towering windows looking down on me, I'd feel very small I think. You can tell I'm a country bumpkin eh!

This version not starring Marlon Brando. Skyscrapers on or near an earthquake fault. Nice dark ambiance in this panorama, Bill, virtually like an oil painting.

Great city scene This is the only way I will ever get to see Seattle Never flown on a plane before and absolutely terrified of heights I like sitting here looking like this LOL Hugs Susan~

Amazing contrast, the small board front buildings on the waters edge, possibly the begginings of the port.Behind them what appear to be early hi-rise developement and then the huge glass towers.True urban sprawl and economic growth.
