Description

This is for Mike (Feamike) who was the first person to say George would come back to Anna and who never gave up that faith. I suspect those feelings about natural justice reflect a lot about our Mike in the real world. For you my friend, one from my Grannie's attic. Another image of Delphinium Order characters that I recently found in the attic at my Grandmother's house. Aren't these old images just simply delicious? Faded and yet so full of life. I always wonder how they were made. There was an artist of that time called Wayne Doarte who was quite famous for producing the lovely backgrounds that grace this and many other images of the Delphinium Order. I shall have to look in Wikipedia and see if I can learn more of his techniques. Ah, and here we have an image of the lovely Lady Anna Wildwood and I do believe that is her dragon George perched on her shoulder. Oh, she did love him. He must have been but a newborn kit when this image was created. George was known to have been a mischievous little bastard and caused Anna no end of trouble; right from the moment of his hatching so they say. There are rumors of him having gotten into Lady Larkspur's mead during Lady Anna's coronation into knighthood and gotten quite hammered. I shall have to see if I can find some manuscripts of that event. Do you get a sense of that devil may care attitude from the wicked grin that he is flashing here? I know I do. I think George was just born to be wild. Anna seems to have a slight look of trepidation behind that lovely smile of hers, don'tcha think? I suspect that she was wondering at this point what sort of wild ride she was in for with George, both literally and figuratively. What I do know right now is that the fact that George was a bit of a troublemaker was due in large part to his great curiosity and intelligence. He could be rascal, but he was also known to be loyal and brave. Anna often called him her "bad cat" because he was always on the hunt and often scaring up trouble. Her feline analogy was probably well spoken. Previous

Thank you very much, Roxy. Very sweet image I do love this so much, Roxy! A very beautiful portrait of the two. I would suspect that Anna, secretly enjoyed some of the trouble, as it were, that George got into. that they both learned about themselves and each other in the process of getting into and out of the mess. Again, Thank you very much

OK - a dragon hammered on mead - now, that I'd like to see! From a safe distance, of course.. Anna does kinda have that "What the hell is this ornery little bugger gonna do now?" look, but it's a look tempered with love for the fiesty little guy. George's personality certainly comes across in this wonderful work. And what a great dedication to one of the coolest dudes on Rendo! Top-notch work as always, Roxy!

Great dedi to Mike. I see from his post he does like it very much. She has that kind of mischevious look in her eye herself. She also looks like she is very happy to have George back. Hope kitty doesn't get jealous with all the attention George is getting. Hugs Liz.

Lovely old photograph! I have searched in my attic but did not found anything. BTW they are not photos the earliest "photographs" around 1900 was photochroms, look it up. Library of Congress has a nice collection! Of course he is mischievous so mother so child! At least Anna is his ersatz mother.

Beautiful work - dragon indeed looks like he's about to get into some mischief at any moment and she's wise to keep an eye on him. I love your sepia work and this is one of the best of those. Love the shine in her eyes. Anna is a very special character!
