Brad Pitt and I share the exact same birthday (month, day, year) outside of that, our stories diverge considerably. Mr. Pitt went on to become an internationally famous superstar, while I have led the much more interesting life of the starving artist. I come from a long line of storytellers (whose gift for gab stretches back through the mists of time to our native Ireland) and professional malcontents who were seemingly born to create something in the arts, be it music, writing, sculpture, painting, or photography. I started writing at age 12 with a screenplay with my cousin Ryan about a planet where everyone looked like Elton John entitled "Don't I Know You?" More screenplays followed, several of which received epic Super-8 production with budgets that sometimes ran up to $10. A few even had sound!  More writing followed: songs, poems, short stories, numerous unfinished novels, etc.. Somewhere in there was an attempt at being a rock star...
Still living at home, at age 22, my father dropped an elderly Nikromatt 35-mm film camera into my lap, in the hopes that I would "make a go of it" as a photojournalist. That didn't happen, but I did develop an abiding love of photography that along with writing and archival work have been among the chief passions of my life. When it comes to my photography, I try to be as creative as possible while at the same time striving for a documentary/archival quality. The only set rules I adhere to, when it comes to making pictures are: 1.) Try not to make the picture blurry, and 2.) Don't drop the camera.

okay that is hilarious! Made me laugh out loud on that one - it isn't just you trust me - I thought the same thing when I read that - I just realized you called me last night - I am off to slumber land and then on a plane at 7 AM- I'll call you when I get in-sorry for the missed call last night - I'm not sure what happened- anyway Great shot! I love you eye :)

I saw you posting this, so I was forewarned! I love this shot and I must say that the company responsible for this really DOES know how to advertise itself. And speaking of the odd double meaning here, it's hard to forget. This is hilarious. I'm glad that there are still people in this city who don't rely on committees and focus groups for their advertisement. I love this shot. That slogan also reminds me of someone, but I won't mention that person's name as doing so might invoke him.

LOL! How refreshing, to see a slogan like this. So much of this sort of thing is gone. (There used to be a radiator repair shop about a mile from here. Their catch phrase was, "This is a good place to take a leak!") I love the bright red truck, the memorable slogan, and just to reinforce the image, I see they've got a web address for ... what ... some sort of cola? Cocktails? Bet they do a good business! :D

LOL Reminds me of that old joke A woman walks into a bar and asks for a double entendre So the bar man gives her one

Lol--there's a charter fishing company in Mexico that has a very suggestive name and even funnier tag line ( I posted a shot of it a couple of years ago). I won't tell, might get in trouble with the mods and admins around here! Great capture!!
