Description

About as close to the traditional moors as I'm going to get. Captured 12/11/10, in the very early AM, in my beloved Holifield Park, situated within walking distance of my lachrymose lodging. Much better viewed full size. A temporary departure from my usual high key and brightly lit photography. I came extremely close to including more fotos from this misty stroll and creating a collage, which is my wont, but felt this one should stand on its own in this particular instance. Toodles, thankx for sitting in, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

Moody and misty. Like this very much. I always expect to see sunshine in southern California...this reminds me of how things looked every morning when we lived on the Presidio of San Francisco only 1/2 mile from the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge. Nice presentation.

Oeee - I like this a lot. It is so moody with the quiet fog just lying on the ground! Great composition too Harry! I love the path leading the eye into the image! Well done!

This is outstanding... I would frame and hang this for all to see. Would make an excellent puzzle, would take me forever cause of all the leaves and similarities but what a challenge it would be. Nice work.

Oh it's just beautiful Harry. A beautiful capture of clarity with over-arching mist simultaneously. It's amazing how the trees are half-swallowed, around their 'mid-sections', but the tops---esp in the foreground---shine forth with clarity & delicacy. When we've had mist here, I've struggled with it grandly because it obscures so much. But here, you got 'obscuring' plus the lines & ghosts of trees & ground in addition to those beautiful leaves. The reds & dark oranges & greens are just beautiful whispering through that soft mist. Gorgeous. I can see why you love this park, it's beautiful. And it's fine this stood alone; you can always do a montage later, and this has such mysterious presence it speaks beautifully all by itself. Beautiful urban capture...amazing it's in the middle of one of the country's hugest cities...

I saved my absolute favorite for last on this time through your wonderful gallery. You may remember that I love almost all trees. (The one exception, Mountain Cedar, is getting ready to attempt to pollinate all and Sundry whether we feel like being pollinated or not.) Beautiful atmosphere, composition, and color! I love the similarities of the shapes of the branches reaching out from the different trees and the curve the path. The tree in the foreground with its brown leaves, looks stunning and distinct against the evergreen and the misty grey trees further away. Magical capture!
