Yes, this is the last shroom shot I have taken this year. I might still have some shrooms, I havent posted, but it will be difficult to point them out now. :)
I thought these last shrooms, that have seen better day already when I took the shot, as you see, was a good photo to end this series with. FULL SIZE, more details.

yes, I agree with many others, that deep red is just beautiful. "Yummy," as bill says. It looks like pancakes with molasses. Beautiful late fall capture. And burgeoning out from the trunk like that---a cut-off trunk too!---makes it like the train of a great gown trailing behind it. I love the collection of leaves & bark behind it too (to the left). Vivid closeup of a beautiful colony. Sorry to see the series go (for this year at least), but yes it's a good end because we all know that soon these mushrooms would be decayed into soil. I love how the trunk intensifies towards the bottom. You always had a great eye for nature, Helle!

These shrooms look so rich in colour and that is an interesting stump too.

WOW! That color is amazing! WOW! It is funny: the mind of Chip is a very strange place. When I saw these shrooms, I thought that they look as if they are made from meat, like maybe they are actually some kind of strange animal pretending to be shrooms so that bigger animals will not eat them. It doesn't matter though, they are still very, very beautiful and I love the contrast of the warm red colors (like molasses, maybe, or something a little bit spicy.) I also like the stump. I imagine that bench biters will move in soon! That is always good!
