Description
While in Sherborne, Dorset recently i was taking a few pictures around the abbey precincts in the late afternoon sun, i happened to look up when approaching an archway and caught a glimpse of this anxious face looking back at me. It took me a bit by surprise and i then realised it was a doll. I think you'l agree its a bit unusual, note the spider in the lower part of the picture.

The spider seems as real as the person; it's a looped wire at the end of a wire line to my eye. Girl - spider or doll - wire? Only the Shadow knows....

That spider looks rather large but it goes so well with the girl in the window. Sort of an old world look.

boy, it's hard to come back here after an absence & have to choose between so many images; I try to do as many as I can, esp in a gallery of this quality. I loved this when it went up, for the fay quality of that doll, and because the screen (or soil in the glass) makes it look even more antique and mysterious. Love the detailing on that old moldered wall, and the pipe---which you gave us a piece of. Didn't see the spider first time, but now---on revisiting---I see it! Nice natural camouflage. And a nice rustic capture of a vignette from life. Love that wall...
