Description
I like how this gypsum cast statue of a Renaissance-style Venus pudica seems wary of the winter outdoors. She was in a sheltered glass alcove in the hall of the Carraresi House, a museum in Treviso, white and naked as the wintry landscape outside. Hence I thought she was good at representing the incoming winter solstice.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Wonderful! I really like this a lot! It's quite a touching and elegant image. Ah...a goddess in winter, marking the arrival of the Winter Solstice. I love that; it fills me with such a sense of anticipation, as it must do so with the Goddess, preparing for the arrival of the God and the naughty, adult stuff that's bound to happen in preparation for the eventual advent of spring. Yeah, I like that sort of sultry stuff! This is a marvelous capture and concept, quite touching, and--dare I say?--mythic. Wonderful!

She's not the only one that's wary...It's cold outside here!
