Somewhat timid
You stood and watched the sun setting
while the sky changed
from blue and green
to a deep shade of pink
The sun reaching her last bits of light
to touch us both
caress us with warmth as she parted
in this cold world we live in
You pretended not to notice me
but you were aware of my presence
I pretended not to notice you
but I could see you there
I wonder
if every sunset you see
means something different to you
for every night you watch
as the giant light decends
and you appear so sad to watch her sleeping
Do you go home to cry too?
Does the darkness have you longing for light?
Does the chill from evening leave you longing?
I have to wonder
as I watch you taking a moment
to watch the sky change to darkness
If you arent more like me
than I could imagine
