Description
Hello. Sorry it's been so long. Life has a way of kicking one's butt.
But here I am, back with a little holiday Cheer. And frustration in trying to get this to render decently in C8. Had to go with harder shadows so Carrara wouldn't crash on me. Took weeks to figure out the settings. I had more in the original scene, but I had to pull back for render issues. I had wanted to use the full cut briefs from Sickle Yield's Everyday Underwear, but it kept breaking in Carrara; I had to reload it each time I opened the file to try to render it, since it would break if I saved it. Almost had to use the boxer briefs, but I wanted to stay traditional. Not the most pleasant experience.
All figures are M4, and I can't get enough of Pictureland's Kane character. The old man is my latest attempt at a caricature of myself.
A bit of holiday humor. I hope you enjoy.

Somehow I knew just from the title what the gift would be! Really well composed scene, though. Despite the fact that you had to take out some stuff, there's still a ton of detail work in there. The outside background; the light from the fireplace - just a great job!

i guessed right on the gift, too! classic! it's a great scene. i love how the older boy looks just as pleased as the older man. i sympathize with your fight against technology, but the result was well worth it. i wish i knew a way around your problems, but i'm getting out of the DAZ/Poser game for rendering and going to Blender and the external renderers that work with it.

wow nice work for your first Carrara, I know that software is a pain in the butt. I have it and I tried it...I dont have issues with crashings, I just have issues I seem to cant get the lighting to work properly...I gave up on it and went back to Vue, lol...anyways, nice render, lots of details and above all realism and great lighting..funny thing about the underwear, lol..

Ah...I did not guess underwear, but ugh, how disappointing for a kid to open a present and find that, LOL! My mind went in a totally different direction...I thought the most dreaded gift was a fruitcake, LOL.
