Nella foto una piccola ballerina Bianca che cammina sul fosso ghiacciato in cerca di cibo. Circa tre metri di distanza dal pettirosso di ieri . Le foto sono state scattate nello stesso giorno ( domenica mattina ). In the picture a little Dancer White walking on icy ditch in search of food. About three feet away from the robin yesterday. Grande quanto un passero; forme slanciate con lunga coda e colorito bianco, nero e grigio piuttosto contrastato. Corre rapidamente e agita spesso la coda. Può essere confusa soltanto con la Ballerina gialla e la Cutrettola, entrambe con ventre e sottocoda gialli. Forme slanciate con lunga coda spesso agitata con un movimento ritmico, becco sottile ed appuntito. Il maschio in abito nuziale è inconfondibile: mascherina bianca su fronte e occhi contrastante con la gola, il petto e la nuca neri; dorso e ali grigi; coda nera bordata di bianco e parti inferiori bianche. La femmina ha colori meno netti sul capo ed entrambi i sessi hanno una livrea più sfumata in inverno. Il giovane è bianco e grigio, con una mezzaluna scura sul petto e coda più corta rispetto all'adulto. A lovely capture of this very small wagtail. I always thought they would be bigger than a sparrow. He looks very cute and thank you for all the info on him too as we don't have them down here.
