I took this because of the 'bird' cloud in the distance just under where the sun shines, shown up remarkably well under the dark snow laden and ominous cloudbank passing in the distance. It actually looked far more 'bird like' in reality! Then I decided to take a bit more of that cloud which was going slowly towards the Plymouth direction. It really was that dark and the fall of snow could just be made out with binoculars.
We have been really lucky in this seemingly narrow corridor, but no one, not even the local forecasters, can give an explanation as to why we have escaped so lightly, though the guess is because it is basically just too cold. Having said that though, I have found it fine as long as that darned wind doesn't blow! Westerly's are just fine. North Easterly's - not so much!
One absolutely fantastic passtime just about everyone is partaking in is the feeding of the wildlife! The rallying call went out and all here answered! I stood behind two brawny, leather and metal laden bikers earlier today buying an entire sack of bird and deer food. Our local RSPCA centre is getting help also with folk donating a few tins of food for the inmates via the bins in Tesco's. ^=^
Did anyone else see at least a small part of the moon's eclipse! I'd have loved to have seen it all!
I wish you all a very happy Winter Solstice. ^=^
Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

This is a definite Zoomer shot and it reminds me of a joke I heard in a show featuring a Macedonian comedian. The show was in Macedonian, but I had an excellent translator named Svetlana with me, and she adores that comedian. Anyway, I bring this up because in one of his skits, he claimed to know as much about everything as he did, because he's a dietitian. That was his explanation for knowing all there is to know about birds, especially the "White Headed Eagle" also known as the American Bald Eagle. The bird in this shot reminds me of a Bald Eagle, and for some off-kilter reason, I'm thinking of comedy shows from Macedonia. Go figure. Anyway, I find these shots to be amazing. The clouds are so impressive, and the bird is quite well captured. It DOES look "White Headed Eagle" ish...and that's always a good thing. I love the mood in these shots as well, and of course there is a slight otherworldly quality to these, and what's not to like about that!? This is simply delightful.
