I have had both a rescued kitten who lost her sight from infection and a rescued kitten who lost one eye from an attack by another animal. Once the danger of the infection had passed and they healed, they did very well and I was able to place them in homes where they blossomed under the love and tender care they received. They did not seem to feel impaired in the least. :-) I adore this darling kitty and wish it all the best. Fabulous portrait.

I'm so sorry. My cat Dusty lost her eye as well She had a birth defect on her eyelid that left a lump or something so every time she closed her eyes or blinked it scratched the eye ball until it was almost through to the retina. They finally had to remove it. They probably told you what they told us and it appeared to be true 'they learn to adapt with just the one eye' she just had to turn her head more but she got use to it. So, best wishes and just show your cat lots of love and He or She won't really care about the loss. Merry Christmas!!!

Oh no, poor little fella. I hope you are able to take care of her/him because this looks pretty nasty. It looks like she was in a fight given the blood on her face. Did she get to the vet?
