Lovely to see this beauty on Christmas! I had a favorite tree in Stow Longa, Cambridgeshire that was similar, though not so grand. It stood alone on the border of two fields. That was 30 years ago, so it would be much grander now than it was. I hope it still stretches over the spot where we walked. Beautiful capture! The tree seems to be dressed in his finest, with a sash of red around his middle. Lovely detail and colors. I love the lines of the clouds. Merry Christmas!

It is so very comforting to know there are others out there who talk to trees - albeit with images! Fantastic image and I wish for you and your family a wonderful holiday and new year. ^=^

Lol at your 'truncated' title...it's happened to me: The titles stop at 50 letters, and if you wrote the Magna Carta after that, it'd still fall off. But without the "me," it has a certain appeal; it kind of takes us in and makes us finish the title ourselves. (Maybe I'll try it & see if I get more viewers, lol.) A beautiful shot, and you know, I'm seeing how you love to peer into familiar sights again & again, to see all they have to offer, to catch them in different lights of day, to see them in different moods, always finding new life in them, new revelations, etc. (Like Monet did with haystacks or cathedral facades, etc.) It's wonderful. And here is another snow covered capture, in another 'attitude', and with this beautiful 'powder' all over it, and that red band in the middle like cinnamon seasoning on a sugared pastry. Lovely shot once more. Boy, winter sure does wonders where you live! I'm grateful for this whole series. Quite beautiful work.
