Description

Many children get a count down calender at december the first and there are almost as many varieties, as there are parents and of course you can buy many different specimen. Here are a couble of them :-) Same textile shop. IN Denmark people eat the Christmas supper the 24th at about 6 pm. Dance around the Christmas tree and get their presents after the supper. Next day there will be a great Christmas lunch with family or friends. Eating black bread with herring in vinagre, sugar and spices or/and Herring in strong, sweet, sour curry sauce or Herring in other spices. Then it is liver paré, fried flat fish with tartar souce, maybe smoked eel, meatballs, Shrimps, smoked salmon, and severed warm dishes and usually it ends with cheese of different kind. And then they drink beer and SNAPS and some drink wine. I dont drink either. YIKES! I get fat just thinking about all that. We will eat a lunch with only a little of what is mentioned here, I am glad to say. ____________________________ I wish you all a wonderful Christmas Day. Looks here like we will have more snow. ____________________________ Thank you so much for viewing and commenting on my previous post and special warm thanks go to those, who added it to their favorites. :)

I like the custom in Denmark. I really must visit there, or maybe live there with a particular Russian person who is very, very skinny and tall. I really love this shot and your write-up. I love the calendar elves and the colors in this image. This is perfect. Superb, and I love the idea of Herring for Christmas. It's like the Czech Republic, only they have carp that has lived in the bathtub for the night. I love this shot and Merry Christmas to you.

Some people here count down on an advent calendar, and each day contains a little picture. You can get a chocolate advent calendar, and every day you open a little door and take out the hidden chocolate, one for every day. Isn't that a sweet custom? The little elves are charming! I wonder if they are hiding any chocolate. Hmmmmm ... Such a cute pair, and a wonderful picture!

A lovely capture of these two great looking characters and that certainly sounds like a feast you had. I seem to have done nothing but eat for the last week. You can guess what my new years resolution will be.
