Description

For the past 3 years I've been contributing to a calendar of images drawn from the Traveller RPG. This year I submitted 2, the first of which is this one. I designed the Trepida Grav Tank for the game originally, but I hadn't modeled it in 3-D until now. Also in the scene, the Astrin APC, which I also designed. Extensive art direction was done by arcass! Thanks, man! Done in Lightwave and Photoshop. Thanks for taking a look!

Awesome! This tops pretty much any Traveller image I've seen before. Simply awesome!

Fantastic image! Excellent modeling and POV. Wait, there's a Traveller calendar? Where? For thirty years I've suffered from a compulsion to purchase all Traveller products... (wow, it sounds scary when I say it that way)

Outstanding in the pure unadulterated light of a G3 type star on a mega lunar body in orbit around a jovian planet!

There is so much wonderful detail in this. I grew up reading those Terran Trade Authority Handbooks, full of artwork as good as this, and with that same sense of otherworldly spectacle. This is really super in that it reminds me of that stuff, but it's distinct and not derivative at all. This is what drew me to science fiction as a kid, and though my tastes in the genre have changed somewhat, images like these will always pull my attention. Your details are amazing, your sense of realism is admirable, the whole mood of this is really great. This is fantastic stuff and it's making a trip into my favorites.

Traveller has been one of my oldest Passions. I can remember playing at Frontier Wars in Bloomington, IL., to get to playtest new GDW stuff! Fantastic work..

nothing better than a traveller image. the grab tanks are very well done. I still wish you would put that free trader you did on the market. this tank woul be a good addition too. would love to see the scout ship also:) (begging) it was my only way to get around during my brief visit to the traveller universe.

Wow! Very nice image. And I've always been a huge Traveler fan since the first three-book edition from GDW.

Yup, it's a great pic (once he got the gun the right way round :-) I think the other one on this year's calendar is even better - thanks again for doing them. You can find out more about the calendar here: http://www.traveller3d.com/calendar/index.htm
