I love that this has the quality of a painting, right down to the manner in which the landscape fades into the background. This ranks up there with many of the anthropological images I've seen of early contact between Europeans and Native Americans...there is a wonderful bit of historical accuracy here, not only in the dwelling structures of an apparently eastern tribe, but in the way that the horizon matches the sort of horizon line depicted in art of the time; here it's accurate, but there is a color-shift that implies that old-school inaccuracy: if that makes any kind of sense. In short, I just like the blending of modern and antique; it makes for a wonderful mix. Really well done. I love the human-ness of this image as well. It's a superb piece of work.
