Description
M4 wearing a bodysuit with skin mapped to it.
I haven't seen anyone do this with the M4 Bodysuit yet. I'm sure somebody somewhere has done it, because it seems like a pretty obvious idea, but I just haven't come across it, so I shouldn't pat myself on the back for my originality too hard.
But I will just a little. Yay for me.
(See? No exclamation point at the end of "Yay for me" to emphasize how proud I am of myself. That's the limit of my humility.)
So how do you go about mapping a skin texture onto the M4 Bodysuit?
I used the tan "Sliman" skin on Jacob like I always do because it's darker than most other Anglo skins, and I wanted a good contrast. (That's Pixeluna's Jake facial morphs for M4. They've evidently changed how you credit someone on this system now, so I can't really add it down below. It's a freebie. I still love him!)
Then I used the FRAD Pan skin for the bodysuit. It turned out waaaay too light for some reason, but I'll chalk that up to my lousy Photoshop skills.
I loaded the bodysuit texture into Photoshop. Then I fiddled and fiddled, and after all the painting and repainting and cloning and blurring and resizing and what not, essentially the final effect was that I basically tiled some of of the Pan skin over and over to fill up the bodysuit jpg.
Then I copied the nipples over. That was trial and error. Got them too high at first, then too low. Just had to pop back and forth between Poser and Photoshop a few times and eyeball the final result.
The bodysuit is mapped differently, and has different parts, than M4 himself. So just applying a skin material in the Material room, going section by section, doesn't work. You end up with a lot of white areas where whatever skin material you've chosen from another character doesn't wrap around all the way. That's why I gave up and went into Photoshop and just painted a big giant square of skin and applied it. And I think that's why it looks so pale. By painting one big square, I missed all the little darker areas (like on the abs and on the knees and such) that really make it look human.
puffle_huff inspired me to get the M4 bodysuit. And because puffle's "Rawr" render was sot hot (in no small part to the generous crotch bulge), I applied a bulge manget to the bodysuit that came in another package I got a long time ago. I stole puffle_huff's bulge! (Why mess with perfection?) I don't know squat about using magnets, but I know that if I use this one certain magnet that I have, it applies a bulge to the crotch area of M4 without any technical skills on my part. It seems to also work on the bodysuit, though it did kind of break down some of the polygons under the bulge area. Easily fixed in Photoshop.
I probably overexplained it. It was a little time consuming, but it wasn't actually that hard.

By the way, the original idea was to have another skin/bodysuit draped over a chair. I don't know how to do that. Does anyone know, or can point me to, a tutorial that shows how to take any object with multiple parts, and make it one big dynamic piece and clothify it in Poser? I tried it once, but the only thing that got clothified was the one part I had selected. It doesn't seem to let you select everything. Everything else on the object stayed rigid. I suspect it might have something to do with grouping, but I've never messed with grouping before. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Muahahahahahaaaaaa Fantastic job for your first go. I can't wait to see what you do when you find textures and such!

Something devious, I assure you. And with a lot more skin showing.

I think you can export your figure as an obj, and weld all the parts (it's a check option in the export box), and import it back in, then clothify it--now I haven't tried it, so I could be really wrong. In the past I have flattened clothing figures by selecting the body, scaling the x y and z as needed, and then applying a magnet to bend it, and then around that time getting pissed off and painting over the ugly parts. ;) So I guess that isn't too helpful. I say take the clothes into Pshop and use the Liquify filter on it! I really like this, and Jake's expression (He always looks like he knows something we don't). And I like that you explain what you do. I wish everyone did!
