Description

Oliebollen (plural for oliebol) is a traditional Dutch delicacy for New Years Eve. It has the most similarities with a donut; they are made of yeast-dough, fried in deep oil and eaten with powdered sugar. In the days between Christmas and New Years Eve oliebollen are sold everywhere in shopping malls and even in booths on parking places and railway stations. But it is not too difficult to make them yourself as you can see on my photo. Feel like an Oliebol? There are many good recipes on the Web even in English.

Marvellous goodies and capture, my Friend! This is an outstanding presentation; I do like the way you have captured it up close and "personal".... they have a beautiful crispy outer layer, that just begs to be bitten down into..... I can just imagine the soft and tender inner dough.... You've certainly outdone and superseded the challenge! Congratulations to you! and a BIG one, at that! I'll trade ya! ;)

Leuke foto! Happy newyear!
