Description

...Harry, a little something for your birthday on the 30th of December my friend. ...I recall giving you a bunch of handgrenades for your birthday in 2009...this year uniform insignia worn on the left shoulder of US Army uniforms during World War I. ...is one of these many patches the same as you wore in the Philippines during World War II? ...The US entered WWI late, but then came with over one million men. ...Here we see the shoulder patches worn by soldiers of the United States Army who served in three armies, nine corps, 49 divisions and 25 special units during WWI. ...HAPPY NEW YEAR too to you Harry and everybody on Renderosity!!! Thanks for posting this. That's an awful lot to keep track of! The military sure is a complex organization - and this at WWI. WWII was even more so (mechanization, air craft). I don't even want to think of what it must be like today! Happy New Year to you and Tara, Bill! :-)

Over there, over there, send the word, send the word, over there..... OMG, thankx loads for this ultra special BD dedication, Bill, with the doughboys and patches all lined up! What memories! Sorry I didn't get to it sooner but I was away from the computer over the weekend quite often due to prior commitments. Other than the 3 Army patches at the top, the red hexagon shaped patch in the third row, and the Christmas tree one in the eighth row, these patches are unfamiliar to me, and I never wore any of these in the Philippines or in the USA. Thanks for this, and the effort behind it, my friend. I will treasure it for millenia.

Wonderful capture of these patches, Bill! Considering the lighting conditions in this museum, you did an excellent job. Those patches are all so sharp and clear. So much to see in this museum... Happy New Year to you and Tara!
