Description

...this is a picture I could not have posted without a bit of very special cloning help from my wife:) ...There was a sign standing in front of the wing in the foreground partially obliterating the red cirle (Rising Sun) national marking of Japan. I could remove the sign but could not digitally "paint back" the way the light shines and the way the red circle dimly shows in perspective. ...I finally turned it over to the Photoshop pro in the family (Tara) who reworked the underside of the wing at 400%, bit by bit, with lots of patience until quite by magic (IMHO), this end result took place. I then transferred the wing by copy/paste and my year-long problem was solved. ...So, who's George? ...The Japanese designation for this World War II fighter was Kawanishi N1K2-Ja Shiden Kai...the allies simply called it "George"... Here's a George fact sheet for those who want to know more. Bill "A Matter of Perspective" thumb_2153575.jpg

She did a fantastic job, I know this isn't the easiest thing to do, and she did it very well indeed! Great capture, and don't you wish the people who placed signs realized the problems they cause to us photographers?

I hope she didn't charge you too much for the work Bill! 20 MPH faster than the Zero, and I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of it. Thanks for enlightening me mate!

I'm glad it worked out! I love this plane against the totally black background. At first glance it appears to be flying. At second glance ... landing gear, no pilot ... and it's a museum piece. But just for a minute, even though I knew better, I would have sworn it was airborne.
