I kept the background a bit empty... So happy was I to think of a new way of background creation in Poser. We make images.. and while we do.. we learn..
Now these are renders that make a PC scream .... The one for tomorrow is already rendering for 9 hours and just half way.. It's not the amount of people put into an image.. it is the Volumetrics. I played a lot with that in the past.. play to learn... I love the possibilities.. but it makes every PC 'grrrrr', esp when you put more poin lights into the Poser world....
News from the real world Our thoughts are with MikeErsong, Adrie and Lori and others, for whom the year started in a difficult way..
Makes you almost a bit ashamed to be able to say I had some good news yesterday.. Medical check was excelent. Was never really back at the doctor since the last operations concerning Cancer in 1999.. but he got me... the doc.... and tested it all..... results are good at every level of the body.

Congrats on the good health check :) As for render times, welcome to my world :) My quad core can't keep up with my own ambition in Carrara sometimes. I too have had 9 - 24 hr render times. Is probably when I'm the most nervous, especially back when I still had C6 32bit only... With C8 64bit, i'm a bit more relaxed, less likely to crash on a insufficient memory error... So yeah, using volumetrics over a distance for outdoors renders really puts the cpu to work. Volumetric lighting, fog, smoke, clouds... Btw, lovely scene... I was wondering what the Goliath's weapon of choice might've been... Now we'll have to see how Gwen's gonna counter...

Good to hear about you results. Very well done here. I like the mood. But 9 hours? Dang. I'd have t buy a new pc for each render. Lol! ")

Your thoughts are appreciated. Thank you, my friend. This is an interesting change of view of essentially the same scene called "Strength." We see it from the Philistine's POV.

I think the guy got screwed, only the smile of the woman shows what is already the weapon of choice! Poor man! did not realize that it lost the fight and has not even begun to fight!! I like your critique on my work and looking for a second time I saw my work he could have done otherwise! thanks for helping me!

Chris .. it is good to hear good news. There has been so much bad news that good news is almost necessary. So thank you .. for sharing the most excellent news with us. I don't think you need much background with the lighting you are using. It adds such mystery and drama to the scene, which is beautifully done.

great expressions that create their own vignettes, and the render quality is amazing
