Description

The folks on New Year's Day didn't spend much time in the water. You can see the surfers in the upper left--all in full wetsuits, probably having a great laugh!!

I would have been there photographing, but not participating. I like my body heat and I don't want to go dumping it somewhere cold. In fact, I need a quick warm-me-up just thinking about this...ah yeah, a nice cup of tea. I really like the light in this, the way the sand looks warm and the vivid life. I guess it would be vivid, when its cold and everybody is swimming, their cheeks get flushed pretty quickly...before they turn blue.

'You can see the surfers in the upper left--all in full wetsuits, probably having a great laugh!!' Either that or they are getting all territorial and crabby and telling the kooks to get off the beach!
