Description
About every 5 years or so the Seaway Authority does a sweep of the canal for old cars. These are cars that have been stolen and dumped in the canal. The ships that pass over them usually hack at them with their propellers especially so if they are in deep draft, making the keel and propeller closer to the bottom. The cost in repairs can be staggering.
Thanks for the peek....................

Oh dear. This wreckage has definitely seen better days and well...it's so considerate of the municipality to clean the canals of dead car bits every so often. Funny how Amsterdam sounds a lot like Chicago in some respects, although we don't dump stolen stuff into our river and we only have 1 or 2 canals. Oh well. This is a marvelous shot. I love the complexity of it and the grimy, gritty realism.

I don't think this guy will go to the garage for an oil change anymore. I can imagine the cost to repair the ship that was damaged. Interesting info and capture. Aloha

Personally, I think you could buff that out and be good to go. Seriously though, this poses a serious hazard and people who cause damage to the ships should be held accountable. I know that doesn't happen but it should.
