Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Do you use a tripod for these dark shots? I always do, and recently I got one of those Gorillapod things that are bendy and grip to everything. It's fantastic and much easier to carry than the full tripod. I notice on the website that they are now magnetic too! Mine isn't, but I loaded up the legs with Sugru for added stability and coolness! It's snowing like crazy here tonight. They SAY it will melt off by tomorrow noonish, but we'll see. I like this fake one so much better!

Snowflakes in balmy Huntington Beach? Unheard of. Cool spectrum of color blends and silhouetting in this shot, Maz!

Great shot - beautiful sunset - I would have been up on the railing. :>) Dana

Snow. We got tons of that stuff. We got the edges of the Eastern and the Southern blizzards. In Chicago, "snow" is a four letter word. Oh wait, it's already a four-letter word...well...it's a different sort of four-letter word now, one that only grownups are supposed to use. Needless to say, if snow was more of what you just captured here, we'd like it a lot more. We tend to grumble and cuss like truck drivers when we have to shovel it or drive trucks through it. But this way, your way, is so much better. So much prettier too! I really like this, the colors are delicious and the contrasts are really super-nice! Yeah, this is the kinda snow I like
