Description

Once in the autumn season I almost stumbled over this big lid to our water barrel. (one of them) in the back yard. I found the reflections so beautiful, that I took some shots. I remember I thought that it looked like another world in the lid. It must be Chip´s influence. LOL ! Had a wonderful day with my friend yesterday. We painted and ate dinner and talked and laughed. It was such a great day. Didnt finnish the painting, SO.... we have to do it again :-D She is pro painter and have a BIG studio, where she has a magnificent view over fields and the north Ocean. ______________________________________ Have a beautiful day. This morning it is very foggy, but the walk with the dog was so peaceful and quiet. Suddently I heard the sound of swans...(wasnt sure wether it was swans or geese, before I saw 16 swans popping out of the fog, babling all of them. Great fun. Then I banned myself for forgetting my camera :-/ It is unforgivable. If I could, I would kick my own butt. ____________________________________ As usual: Thank you so much for viewing and commenting on my previous post and special warm thanks go to those, who added it to their favorites. :)

The edge of the lid makes such a perfect frame for your little world! I love the reflection and the leaves ... it's wonderful! I'm glad you had fun with your friend. :)

WOW! You should photograph more water barrel tops if this is the result, and I agree, that this does look like a window into another world, or maybe another world that you can get into if you move the right leaf. It's a puzzle you know: find the right leaf and it opens the doorway into the world that you see. And if you enter that world, and keep the leaf in your pocket, you can go there and come back here whenever you want to. Or something like that. This is another magical entry into your gallery, and I think it makes up for the absence of swans. I think that they might come back, so don't worry...or you will find other ones! I know that feeling, however; I missed many wonderful insects because I forgot my camera and the insects were not willing to wait for me to go all the way home to get it and then return. Insects. They're so impatient! I love this photo. Did you notice that the shadows of the trees also match the leaves perfectly, so it looks as if the tree-reflections are made out of leaves? WOW! That is amazing for me, and the colors are so bright and gorgeous!

This lid certainly does have a wonderful reflection in it. A lovely capture. I'm chuckling over you kicking your own butt, perhaps the swans will return.

Beautiful! Beautiful! I love this shot! I love the textures of the leaves in various stages of submersion, the way the leaves look like they are the tops of the trees reflected, and the feeling of a doorway (albeit a wet one) to another place. I like the little stems sticking out like hairs on the surface of the leaves, and the shadows and motion in the water caught in the rim. Wonderful detail, color, and reflections! Excellent capture! Your day sounds like great fun. But the painting not finished? (I'm one to talk.) You'll have to get together with her again very soon!
