Description

I admire the work of the 17th Centure Dutch painters such as Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer and Ruijsdael. I always wonder how it was at that time and I believe the paintings of them gives me a glimpse of that world. This image cannot compare with any Dutch painting I know.. I only tried to create an atmosphere just like in those paintings. The original photograph was taken yesterday. On the left you will see the Dalempoort, the only gateway in Gorinchem (a small Dutch city) that still excist and in the middele a windmill called Ã�Â´De Hoop` (Hope in Eng.).

I really like the atmosphere and color palette in this picture... :~) In the early days of my gallery here, I also attempted to recreate somewhat the mood of the Dutch paintings: "an old Dutch painting"
