Description

TG2, playing around with image maps. Full view recommended. For displacement of the ground I used a grid-patterned image map with spherical projection as a terrain shader, and I liked the resulting uncommon look. Bushes from Mr.Lamppost's basic bush pack (from Planetside), astrolabium object made by me in Bryce and exported to TG2 (first time I tried that and I'm happy that it worked!) Postwork in Photoshop and Picture Publisher for contrast, light reflex and signature. Thanks for looking, commenting and critics!

Sue, this is a fantastic image. (I'm still trying to figure out how you got that design in the mountainside)

Another beautiful composition. Excellent use of displacement image mapping (masonspappy, that's how the pattern was imprinted on the mountainside) and good deployment of foliage. For me the scene works better without the astrothingummyjig atop the mountain.

I've used images for color, but for some reason have never thought to do so for displacement. And the vegetation is superb!!
