Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

A shame he wasn't up to much! Good shot!

WOW! You do these so well. I can picture you walking around enjoying the life around you...in green flip flops: gotta have the green flip-flops, or red ones, or yellow ones like my friend Tom's. That's the image in my mind from the night we all made our way to Reza's in that big, Renderosity gaggle, or was it a flotilla? I never know what you call groups of people, but I rather like "A flotilla of artists." It has a nice goofy ring to it. Anyway, this feels like the same sort of mood, really easy-going, really relaxing, with random music popping out of places. This is a well-seen and well presented photo with great color. It looks warm and totally spontaneous in the best possible way. Sorta like Life just said: "Here I am!" and you took a picture of it at precisely the right time. You do so many shots like that and I love 'em all.

Lol nice shot of him even if his music wasn't any good..

OMG, what a coincidence! I watched an old movie on tv last week, starring Randolph Scott, among others, that had Bob Burns, inventor of the bazooka, playing a multitude of instruments all by himself, similar to those shown above. But I digress. Stark lighting, cool focus and composition in this pier shot, Marilyn!

Great capture! your comment reminds me of the commercial where the guy says America's got talent, well, most of them

Just out of frame, the big hook... I guess that's why he's playing there and not somewhere else?

lol. We walked past a similarly talented musician playing on the overstreet crossing in Las Vegas a couple of months ago. Nice shot :)

I suspect his wife said, "If you are going to make all that racket, do it somewhere else". :-) Nice human interest shot here Marilyn!

Dont knock these guys, it takes a lot of courage to do this, I´ve tried it a few times. Excellent shot!
TallPockets
TERRIFIC shot, beachzz! (TallPockets saw JIM STAFFORD of SPIDERS & SNAKES song fame at his local fair way back when doing his ONE man show). I'm also reminded of the same name/title hit song of THE ASSOCIATION.

How does he get all that stuff on a skateboard. Nice people study. Dana
