Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great shot! Fascinating how primative these cockpits were.

Lol cool capture of old grump Bill... well done!

Crawl looks like the appropriate verb. Even more respect for the pilots who flew them in to battle. Great insight, Bill, thanks! Clive

How primitive this looks now!

LoL, Rob and I saw this plane at Duxford Warbirds 09, never got close enough to see this little guy though.Always good to see the insides, not an opportunity often available over here. This is an excellent, sharp image, very useful for detailing future model projects.

All those dials, no wonder he looks grumpy :o)

I'll look carefully at the pilot next time I take a flight just in case. Excellent capture.

EXCELLENT! SUPERLATIVE!

Super POV in this shot of the cockpit, instrument panel and controls, Bill. Grumpy was placed there in order to keep the greasy, invasive hands of callous visitors off the controls of this well preserved and intrepid WWII aircraft.

how cute as some days can be "grumpy" but with this fellow around cannot help but smile wonderful capture warm hugs, Linda

lol great capture...

LOL! That's priceless, Bill! He actually looks a little like our third shift guy. Of course if I ever have to work that shift, I'd be grumpy, too! Great capture, Bill! Aircraft cockpits sure look different these days!

fantastic detail!!

Beautiful photo, Bill. I'm surprised the museums let folks inside the planes, particularily the cock-pit with all those controls. "Grumpy" suggests something about this plane. Temperamental engines? Or,..... It looks quite crowded inside, and no crew comfort. Reminds me, did thay have a toilet on board, considering long flying hours to and from the target? I know they brought sandwiches and thermoses with hot tea/coffee (it's COLD up there!). This photo really gives a good view of the controls. Now, to try figuring out what all the dials are for! Keep 'em coming! :-)

I smile my friend. And I think. Many believe that some elderly people have no dreams in their hearts. It's like a home port to have a little fetish of the moment to restore our courage. Well thanks to you and very much appreciated visits esters ((5 + +)) Je souris mon ami .

Wonderful cockpit view. The first thing that I check out on old cars is the dashboard. Dana
