Description

I feel lucky to have snapped picture of this guy. I nearly overlooked the whole scene. I was strolling through the new "secret garden" at Belknap Hot Springs in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon and glanced down at this nickel sized flower. Upon closer inspection, I noticed this little bee checking out the flower as well. Once I got the picture home, I noticed there was an even smaller guy checking it out on the left! I hope you enjoy this, please let me know what you think. I have more pictures along the same lines if people are interested. Enjoy!

Just a completely stock Nikon CoolPix 995. I was using macro mode with spot metering (camera focuses on the center of the image instead of a matrix of points). The original image was 2048x1536 and I've printed a 5x7 that's very sharp!

What a fabulous shot! I don't think I knew that bee wings were so totally transparent. Wow. So impressive! Really beautiful light thru the wings too.

A hover fly! I knew it wasn't "truly" a bee, but didn't know what it was... thanks for the info.
