Dana (danapommet) had asked on my picture (Strange shore) if they were Cypress stumps. So I figured I show you all this shot.
This is what a swamp Cypress tree stump looks like when it’s covered by water. I took this when walking on the boardwalk through the Black-water swamp at the Tallahassee Zoo. At first, never seeing them before like this, I thought it was Volcanic! But it’s just the orange color core of the tree that looks iridescent (glow) when wet.

They are definitely strange colored stupms. It reminds of the color of an alder when it is truncated in winter.

when I have seen them submerged the water was not clear.a heavy rain here turns the ponds murky dirt color.very interesting shot
