Description
These are tjanting. They're used in batik which is a textile decoration. Hot wax, fabric dye and teenagers - always one of the more entertaining lessons.

It took me a while to recognise these, and then the AH!, AH! effect. Eyedancer, top marks!

Incredibly fascinating. I know little, if anything about any sort of textile work, and so this is something new to me...okay, I know about batik, but NOT how it's made. I really should broaden my horizons. This is a fantastic shot...nicely mysterious in a way.

I've never tried my hand at batik, although I love the result. Great shot, no matter what their use!
