Description

Every now and then, I will send a lava update via email. My last email was “Caution to the wind when going down to view the ocean entry. You would probably be walking over the bench formed last year in July to view the new ocean entry and the new forming bench. That July Bench is still fragile and full of cracks. Below are pictures of now and compared to pictures of before July (Archives)..... For the advancing lava, you can see smoke in the first picture, lava burning the kipuka and its heading towards the July Bench and ocean. If it continues, it will add more weight to the July Bench making it more unstable. Just a Caution to the Wind...” The pictures can be found in the "USGS image archives " or from my friend site "Bryan Lowry" . Bryan also had posted a "blog" of the “The New Ocean Entry” and dangers of the bench. This is what not to do as you are risking someone's life as well as yours. See "Video" . Aloha and thank you viewing

The local gov ought to hire you =D And a good many of your shots should be in public spaces around there (library, hotel lobby/halls, college halls, etc) I've donated paintings here and there and am pleased they are displayed. =)

That video was crazy. ;o) Your image is awesome, and your entire collection of lava pictures tells a story I could never understand before (having never experienced such firsthand). Really do appreciate your interest in these lava flows.
