Description

Just HAD to take a break from all my projects (8 at last count...) and play a little bit! Thank you, Jenny for letting me play with your new Movie Posters and Beyond 2 set - these are wonderful, as are all your packages! I hope you like my little 'Movie Poster!' The pose is called - appropriately enough - 'Splashdance' and I'm sure you'll remember a certain movie scene. It was a wonderful excuse to play with some lighting and textures. I tried to simulate the lighting from the famous movie scene as best I remember it. The floor is a prop I created and added my own textures to. Mira's boots are Over the Knee Boots available at DAZ. For her chair, I found a nice model at Archive3D where you can find about a gazillion 3D models in .3ds format, which imports readily into Poser and Bryce. It even came with a nice set of textures for the fabric. I added a reflection node in the material room for the frame of the chair. I 'tweaked' Jenny's pose just a tad to fix a bit of poke-through in the boots, and also to have her pulling the chain for the water. There are so many generous folks here, and I thank you all! I have several more projects with cool stuff I've been gifted, and you'll see 'em here! I'm also working on the next page in the TNA series - coming soon! Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to drop by my gallery for a visit, and to those who have taken the time to leave a comment! I appreciate them all!

Fantastic work, Rod! Great pose and setting! Well it looks like her boots are on tight, so she is not footloose!

That's definitely cold water, Rod, I can tell from her face expression. They could have warmed it a bit for her. You brought the drama and the atmosphere to a higher level with the background, lighting and the whole composition! You're just good at entertaining us folks with all the added details! Just fantastic from any angle!

Wow Rod, this brings back memories of the 80's!! What a great job! The water looks fantastic as does the background and the floor you came up with. The boots look quite a bit sexier than leg warmers too!

WOW! Excellent image as always Rod! Great job with the post-work. The water effects are especially good. I like that little chain you gave her to dump the water bucket too. That's cool floor you created. Nicely done. Side thought: If you get poke-through with boots, usually the best way to solve this is to make the body part invisible - depending on how high the boots go that is.

The splash brushes are extremely well done, but for me the mose impressive work is on the floor.. not only for the great mirror reflects but for the hand made textures. Whether the lighting is a perfect match for the flick or not is not really so important as the fact that you have created perfect disco lighting for your own image. Agree with mrestey, I always just make body parts invisible to solve pokes, or do the fixes in post work.

Now, as I've said previously, I don't know how you do what you do but I know I've tried drawing a splash of water before and I got nowhere. This is excellent. So, is 'talent' spelled...short wardrobe and smashing good looks? Ha, thought so...
