Description
This photo was taken back around 76, 77 or 78. In California at that time gas was rationed by your license plate number. If the right most digit was even, you could get gas on even numbered days. If it was odd, it was odd numbered days for you. BUT you had to get to the gas station early, because they could only pump so much gas in a day. This day I did not make it in time. Just before I got there, the last in line sign was put on this car. Actually I think it was her car. She worked at the gas station. This was in Santee, Ca.

A blast from the past, indeed? This old geezer was stranded on his motorcycle in the northeast waiting for gas to be delivered to the nearby gas station. We've really come a LONG way since then haven't WE? SIGH. GREAT shot/info!

And we had gas guzzlers in those days on top of that. So began the race for automobile makers to create gas sippers, instead. Brings back a few bad memories, but then, we learned from it.
