Description

This is the same branch of lava from my last post. I’m in a little hole right now and watching this ooze coming down and eventually filling up where I’m at. I got all the gear off from me, just have the camera to make a quick exit when need be. The heat rises so sits not as hot down here. Those little flares of fire on the lava is gas jets caused by the vegetation it burns underneath. The older lava was made sometimes in July-Oct when Gary’s house had burned down. No smell of methane or any explosions here. In the areas where fresh lava and fresh vegetation kisses, beware of the methane gas explosions. It will rock you and sometimes even more. Aloha and thank you for viewing

Not quite as good as being there, but through your camera it's almost as good.

Lava is so strangely sensual...well the slow, oozy kind and not that lumpy stuff. This is an amazing shot and I love the POV. Geology is quite fascinating, and you're right where you can see it in action. Marvelous! This is a stunning shot with great information.

Amazing shot, but wonder if you're using a telephoto, because I shudder to think you were this close.

I see the 'face' has been enveloped now. What a wild trip it is to see these photos try to comprehend the molten center of the planet, oozing out.
