Description

Bryce7Pro/Photoshop Another "all bryce" creation, this time a return to a favourite subject of my earlier posts...ships flying over a futuristic city.In the past my buildings always had lights running over the tops of them, and I could never figure out how to fix that.I recently found a YouTube tutorial by David Brinnen that touched on this very topic, and following his steps I was able to use a second channel in the DTE and effectively block the texture from appearing on the tops of the buildings. Here is the link...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnFdnbBCVnU&feature=related The foreground ships are a Bryce5 model, the skytraffic in the background are lattices(I created templates for the basic shapes in Photoshop and added to them in the Terrain Editor). The skytraffic texture is a modified ProMaterial. The buildings are terrains, the towers are lattices. The texture is a combination of a photo-texture from CGTextures,a preset citylight texture and a techno preset for the additional bump.Sky,light and atmo are all custom, with the sky used as the IBL for the scene(with sun enabled).Rendered in Premium it took 11 hours to render.Post in Photoshop included a slight levels boost, signature and re-sizing.Thanks for viewing, and any comments!

I really like your cityscapes, you have a good way of composing the scenes and always have great lighting.

Awesome sci-fi art. Though the blue lights seem a bit repetitive and should be more random. Its still a wonderful image. Excellent work!!!
