This is for Val who gave me the chance to work with one of her newer characters Onna. I felt I needed to do a more close up version of her to do the character herself more justice than in my last image. Here I also used harder and whiter light and post work filters that I think play well on Onna's pale skin and give her a unique wicked look.
This image came to me in a dream and was screaming to get out - so the story continues. I must admit I got a shiver when I finished the draft of the dialogue so I know the inner spirits are telling me that I have a story that needs to be told and they are not letting go. So are you ready?

Yes Anna?
Where are we now?
We are at a place, a space, a temple, a time, a spot that Onna uses for her scrinning. Do you see what she is doing?
I am not sure. Is she casting a spell or is she looking for something? Whatever it is I am not sure, but she must be doing magic.
Magic indeed; Onna is very good at what she does, though you will not like to hear that. But we are here because you need to know. Now take a close look at her scrinning crystal. What do you see?
Me! I am seeing me! Oh, my .... now isn't that interesting? Very interesting. Here I am seeing Onna and Onna is seeing me!
Yes, you are both very good at magic. And you both have the gift of second sight. Remember that. Do you see the look in her eyes? You have surprised her. When looking to the future she did not expect to see the likes of you. But know too, that she has been at this longer than you, much longer. She is a fae, like me, so she looks much younger than she really is. So be careful of her. Now tell me, what is Onna seeing you doing?
It looks like I have just fired an arrow....at her? I cannot tell. But through the crystal? That cannot be.
It is and it is not. True, she sees that you have fired an arrow, at her, or someone allied with her. But the crystal separates her from the vision of you there, just as you are separated from her now. But as you now know of Onna, she now knows of you.
And we are at war.
Yes.
What will happen next, now that we both know?
That I cannot show you. You came here on a vision quest, to see where your future lies. I have shown you the path you will follow. But it is up to you to take the journey.

oh, I am so happy to see another chapter in your story, and yes, your instinct was right the scene you wrote is very good. Chilling to find out that your enemy is aware of you before you became aware of your enemy. The illustration - I love how you created the wizard's tower with the panels behind. It really looks like a chamber where visions are seen. The expression on Onna is so nicely done, truly the shock of seeing the arrow come for her through the crystal! I like how you tied in the fact that the arrow - shot into the rat was shot into one of Onna's servants/spies but didn't quite spell it out. Clever. Anna looks in surprise and I like Faelyn over her shoulder showing and guiding. Very amazing piece, the light is very well done and I love your post work on this. I can't wait to read more. :) hugs Delaney

More dreamy stuff, great:-) Interesting concept in the story. There was a song repeating something like "I see you watching me watching you" by Massive Attack, can´t remember the lines or title properly, but it always gave me a shiver listening.
