Description

The dog guided Jon through the deserted building , taking him down into a dark, damp and not very pleasant smelling room. As Jon's eyes adjusted to the dim light, much to his surprise, he saw a man laying on a bedroll against the far wall. As Jon got nearer to the man he saw he was asleep, or maybe even dead. Jon knelt down at the side of the man and saw he was breathing, but worryingly he heard a rasping sound in time with the man's breathing. Observing the man he saw he was very under nourished, and apparently he had a small rodent near his hand, that looked surprisingly like a normal mouse. Along with the dog's nuzzling in the man's ear and Jon gently shaking the man's arm, he gradually woke up. The man said his name was Leo Walton, he went on to add he was a scientist who was making his way back to a small settlement surviving on the west coast of the continent, this news both delighted Jon and at the same time shocked him, as for 3 years he hadn't seen a living soul except for "Them" the mutant rats and the cockroaches. Leo went on to explain it was imperative that the Mourat, as he called it, be delivered to the settlement as it was the answer to curing the "Illness" that had decimated humanity to the point of extinction. The Mourat apparently was a cross between a normal Mouse and a Mutant Rat that Leo had Genetically engineered over the past two years. To be continued.....
