Description
This is a view of Boscastle in Cornwall looking upstream to the main village, looking at this tranquil scene it is hard to imagine that a few years back this stream turned into a raging torrent washing away buildings and numerous cars and camper vans parked in the car park at the other end of the village. The whole of this was a scene of devastation luckily no one was killed partly due to the courageous rescue services, but unfortunately three dogs trapped in cars were washed out to sea. This all happened on a summers day, rain had started to fall over the moors and as Boscastle is in a narrow valley it took the full force of the flash flood.
A lady in the minerals and fossil shop told me that when they cleared up all the minerals were packed away, now they are still cleaning them up and find bits of the car park wrapped up as well.
