Description

Oggi arrivavano in TV notizie poco buone al riguardo degli Stati Uniti . Spero che tutti gli amici non abbiano subito danni , né materiali , né fisici. Today arrived a little good news on TV about the United States. I hope all friends have not suffered any damage, whether material or physical. The photograph, taken going up to Montmartre, we see the artists' square: the background, the white needles are part of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, in front of large and beautiful church with a fascinating landscape. These roads are crowded with people coming and going, various artists are placed along the route to a show or do portraits on request Montmartre (o Butte de Montmartre) è una collina nella zona nord di Parigi, di cui rappresenta il punto più alto, all'interno del XVIII arrondissement, sulla rive droite, molto nota per la Basilica del Sacro Cuore posta sulla sua sommità e per essere stato il centro della vita bohémienne durante la Belle époque. Montmartre (or Butte de Montmartre) is a hill in the north of Paris, which is the highest point in the eighteenth arrondissement, on the right bank, well known for the Basilica of the Sacred Heart placed on its top and to be was the center of bohemian life during the Belle Epoque. History Montmartre has long been a village separate from Paris. The origin of the name are two cases; could result from Mont Martis (Mount of Mars) because the hill was the site of a temple dedicated to Mars, the god of war, under the Roman period (on the hill is also a temple dedicated to Mercury), according to another theory derives its name from the notation mont du Martyr (the mountain of the martyr), because, according to legend, was the place where he was beheaded Saint Denis, first bishop of Paris, around the 250 AD When Napoleon III and his city planner Haussmann decided to make Paris the most beautiful cities in Europe, there was the "need" to provide to friends and financiers of Haussmann's large tracts of land near the city center, this pushed the original inhabitants toward the city limits (Clichy, La Villette) and from the hill of Montmartre. Since Montmartre was outside the city limits, free from taxes and in Paris with a production of local wine (still preserves the unique vineyards of Paris), soon became a popular area for entertainment. The area was developed as the decadent entertainment center in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, represented by the cabaret Moulin Rouge and Le Chat Noir (the black cat is, inter alia, the unofficial symbol of Montmartre ) in the same period Montmartre - because of its low cost - was the favorite place for many artists, including Pissarro, Toulouse-Lautrec, Steinlen, Van Gogh, Modigliani and Picasso. Later, the hill has been replaced, as the district of painters, from Montparnasse. http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montmartre Good night and good week Thanks for the comments and the favourites of previous image

I love outdoor art shows and watching the artists create lovely things. Most of the paintings I have were done on the street and picked up in my travels. Stellar photograph.
