Description
Hello All! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted any thing, busy with modeling & had a family emergency that didn’t give me much time for modeling, so I’m back. Neil, this one is for you Mate. Pilot Officer R.A.F. Battle Of France & BOB era, he’s not yet wearing the RAF version of the battle dress!!!! As a newbie 3d modeler, truly... I really got into modeling my own stuff as of September. For those of you who have been keeping track of my progress, you must have noticed that lack of maps or textures. Simple really, I’m still figuring out how to properly use my software. Bad news is that I have to rename all my previous meshes & check them for ngons, since poser has problems rendering ngons trying to add textures in poser if they aren’t properly labeled is very messy, thus the reason behind renaming my meshes to be properly organized & not waste my time in poser. Good news is I’m much faster at modeling & better organized. It only took me 2 evenings to generate the pilot, it is still a work in progress, it is missing the collar, buttons & jacket belt buckle. The Mae West is complete, as are the flight boots, need some finishing touches on the pants, jacket, helmet, oxi mask & parachute harness. But you get the drift, its progress & finally some colour, plus he looks the part. Although these are procedural textures & not maps it still came out nicely. I’m actually happy with the result. Thx for looking & as always all comments are welcome.

Looking very good and so glad to see you posting again. Glad your family emergency is apparently over. They can be so very stressful.

Wow, very nice work for a new modeler indeed. I especially like the sharp creases in the front of the trousers, this is a feature missing from many formal men's clothes.

Now you know I love this, something I never understood both from my BOB research and visit to Hendon, why was it neccesary to print 'Front' on Mae Wests ? even in a rush, you'd be hard pressed to put it on backwards..... This looks brilliant, lots of pilot stuff out there but not dedicated RAF / Comonwealth.Your British 'catalogue' is going to make you very popular and probably Globaly applauded.....so nothing to worry about there :-) Keep us posted, sharing this journey is half the fun. (Hope the family probs are resolved in a happy way....always here for a chat.)
