Description

Firstly many thanks for the mention of my 500th picture on Renderosity, it would have passed me by, i hadn't even noticed, must be my age. The Chinese fishing nets are situated on the backwaters of Kerala and date back to the time when Kerala traded with the Chinese court. The nets are framed with wood and strung along poles that are often 3m long, tied to suspended boulders, these help to keep the nets down when they are dipped into the water at high tide.Four or five men pull the nets out of the water using a rope with a pulley system and rocks at the other end to balance the weight. These nets bring in large catches. A good place to see them is Kochi.

You've got me studying the construction...fascinating. You can do a lot with wood when that is all that you have. Well done.
