Description

Little Bryce for today Une puissante tempête magnétique… ----------------------------------------------- A powerful magnetic storm… The most violent magnetic storm since October 2008 s' Monday evening in the terrestrial magnetosphere is produced, announced Tuesday Institute of physique Lebedev (FIAN) of Moscow on Internet site of solar observatory Russian TESIS. " Us n' have not recorded fluctuations of terrestrial magnetic field of Kp=7 level (on 10) for 540 days, the last so important magnetic storm s' being produced on October 11, 2008 " , one in an official statement of l' reads; Institute. The storm of Kp=7 level (Kp is a geomagnetic index used to measure the variations of the magnetic field of the Earth) can carry damage to the total energy systems, to modify orientation of the satellites, to disturb the operation of the navigation systems by satellite and to cause radio cuts. However, it is not known yet clearly if storm of Monday involved such consequences. " The storm started towards 09:00 GMT. L' Kp index climbed of 3 points, of Kp=4 (" instable") in Kp=7 (" storm forte") in three hours (...). L' storm lasted nine hours, of 09:00 to GMT" 18:00; , according to the official statement. The magnetic storm was a surprise for all the weather centers of the world. It s' is produced in period very calm solar activity, indicate the researchers. The weak solar eruption of Feb 1, which would have caused storm, " qu' was so light; one did not carry to the registers of the eruptions. However, it was very long (more than seven hours) what was not taken into account by the météorologist" , conclude the Russian specialists. Have a Nice Sunday Thanks Magik

That one doesn't appear to have done any damage, but we may see more of them this year.

I think that is what must have happened here yesterday. We started out hot and then got very very hot [39 C] and then bang in came the storm and drenched us with rain and cold. Maybe this powerful magnet did the damage!!! Excellent work.

I was inside this anomaly, too - I am guess I felt it! Or had I had a glass of beer to much in the pub? But when even robots can feel it, it must be true. Robots do not drink, I have never seen one....LOL

A magnetic storm in earth's magnetic field? Did I understand that right? That's a very scary concept! Your interpretation of it is magnificent!
