Great capture of these earthstars Kim - I've never seen one like this as we dont get them in the UK. Apparently they are not edible as they are far too bitter in taste, but I dont know if they are poisonous as well. (Doesnt look like something you'd want to eat though lol)

OH Yeah ! I dont think I have ever seen these in Denmark or maybe it is just me who havent seen them. They are so beautiful and it is a marvellous shot.

Unique shot! I have not seen this mushroom in Bulgaria, but just looked in some Chinese web sites and got some info. In China they also call it "Earth star" mushroom, as well as "Earth spider". According to TCM, it has medicinal properties: activates blood circulation, stops bleeding, strengthens the lungs. Used for treating bronchitis and pneumonia.

Great capture! Mushrooms have always fascinated me with their somewhat alien look! Most interesting is that they are closer related to animals than plants! But a bit funny, after looking at fractals at Rendo I start seing fractals, also in these? ;o)
